Rules & Conditions

ELIGIBILITY

All classes are open to all commercial brewers authorised, licensed or registered in their country of origin.

ENTERING

You must fill out an entry form (see attached) more forms may be photo copied. Organisers must receive these by the specified dates.

  • Entries may be mailed with appropriate cheque
  • Faxed with appropriate credit card details or
  • Use an online form from our website www.nz-beer-awards.co.nz

When entering your beer in a Category it is important to specify which sub-class you intend your beer to be judged in. Beers in similar sub-classes will be judged according to the style outline provided to judges. The sub class numbers are according to World Beer Cup class numbers.

It is the brewer’s responsibility to enter the beer in the correct class.

Beer will be judged based on the criteria of the class and not on brewery size or package type.

No person will be allowed to inspect an entry form after lodgement with the organisers until the ‘judges’ awards have been made public.

The organisers reserve the right to have any exhibit inspected and/or analysed by one or more persons appointed for that purpose.

The organisers may nominate a person or persons to inspect any exhibit to verify that it meets the relevant conditions for the class in which it was exhibited if so requested.

Any inspection is to be conducted within three(3) weeks of the announcement of the awards. The person or persons appointed to carry out the inspection must make a report to the organiser. Should the said analysis(es) prove that the entry for that class is incorrect, all awards for that entry shall be withdrawn.

After the close of entries, no person will be permitted access to the exhibits except the stewards, Director and staff until the awards have been announced.
